A warm and inviting indie/folk trio that will have you singing along after just one listen. The self-titled album is a more recent release and I actually just got it while posting this as well, but Only Way To Be Alone is a must listen.
This band from Melbourne, Australia has grown quite a name for themselves since the release of their first EP. Here we have the first full length album from the band. It is filled with wild riffs, beating drums and hint of oriental music influence. These dudes put on one hell of a live show and the lead singer really has a voice. Similar in styles to The Mars Volta and At the Drive In, but with more of a poppy side.
Simply a must have for any progressive metal fan. They have recently been touring like mad. With their highly anticipated album release, Weightless, Animals as Leaders has become a dominant symbol of the progressive metal genre.
A brilliant chillwave/electronic album. A beautiful under the sun summer album, reminds me a lot of Baths. This album is pure, innocent, warm, and natural. Many of the songs are only around the two minute mark, but the album has twenty songs, which keeps my interests going as each song provides something new. The "Float On" (Modest Mouse) remix is pretty cool as well, but "Summer Heart", "Pure", and"Aura" are a few of my favorites.
If I could force you to listen to this band, I would.
I started jamming along with Tiger and the Duke back in 8th grade and I've only learned to grow and appreciate it even more since then. Another project of Anthony Green as well as members from RXBandits, Finch, and Chiodos. Many other talented musicians have also contributed to the bands work, making each song and album genuinely new and curiously intricate. The band is on "indefinite hiatus", but Anthony Green has said that he would like to see the band work on some new material together, but has a lot of other projects to focus on at the moment. The band members have chosen to call themselves by names of different animals, Anthony Green being the Skunk, to create a sense of anonymity amongst fans. Although of course word got out, but still a cool concept in my opinion.

The Sound of Animals Fighting - "You Don't Need a Witness" Live
Party Math! My new favorite! This band is giving away the album in a pay what you want style, much like Radiohead's In Rainbows. What's not to love about party math? For fans of Adebisi Shank! This is their first EP so show your support.
Just downloaded this, havent given it a full listen but its sounding really good from what I've heard.
Genres: Post-rock, math rock, ambient

7/10/11 - Wow! Okay so I gave We've Been Talking a number of listens and its really growing on me. Steady consistent rhythms, perfectly timed harmonies, excellent post-rock material. Used it for a number of school projects as music beds.
This band is from the UK and consists of four members. This is onw of my favorite Math/Pop bands and I highly suggest you listen to them! They play math/indie rock with a pop influence. The vocals are great to sing along with and the riffs are always all over the place, in a good way of course. If you like the band Colour or Damiera then you'll enjoy this as well. Check out the second track "Baboon", the intro leaves me speechless.
Adventure, Stamina, Anger (2011)
Brilliant! This Town Needs Guns recently release a two song EP called Adventure, Stamina, and Anger. I was surprised to see new material and actually paid the $1.98 for the two songs. A new full length is being recorded but with a different vocalist. I am sad to see Stu leave the band, but I understand his situation and am more than grateful that he made these two parting songs before he left. The first song on the EP has been on repeat for me, it just gets to me.
