After releasing A Weekend in the City, Bloc Party released eleven more B-side songs. It's been getting called "Another Weekend in the City."  Get it here: Mediafire

Intimacy (2008)
Mediafire

Bloc Party is a four piece band from the UK. I've been listening to them since I was in middle school and I just recently gave "A Weekend in the City" another listen and it reminded me of how good they really are. Deep song writing and powerful singing by Kele Okereke. "Silent Alarm" is a wonderful album and is often referred to as their best work but "A Weekend in the City" just gets me every time so I'd have to call it my number one.

Straight Reads the Line

The Author (2008)

Lets Gets Nuts! (2005)
Mediafire

Straight Reads the Line is a five member band from Ontario, Canada. "The Author" has a perfect mix of both brutal and melodic. The screams are guttural, real, and give the impression of a live music setting. This band has a lot of passion and energy and I would recommend giving them a listen. Check out "Last Call", metal drinking song. Wish I could see this band live but unfortunately they have broken up =\

Secret Band

Secret Band EP (2011)
Mediafire

Since Johnny Craig can't keep his life together and is now dealing with multiple drug charges and jail time, the remaining members of Dance Gavin Dance have started a side project known as the Secret Band. Screamer Jon Mess covers all vocals, Johnny Craig was a bit of a pussy anyways and Jon Mess is whacked out 24/7 so the lyrics are more than interesting.

Last.FM description -
Secret Band was started in order to name drop marijuana strains that typically are bottom shelf quality at local sacramento dispensaries, as we all know matt mingus can’t afford $50 8ths even if they do overweigh it by nearly a gram for him. once they found out how great things were without jonny craig trying to rail their girlfriends and eating all the fun dip, they continued to work on the secret band ep, but admitting they will never release it unless they can find a “really good” torrent of fruityloops and someone who knows how to work a keygen to unlock it.

Battles

Gloss Drop (2011)

  Mirrored  (2007)

 EP C (2004)

 EP B (2004)

Battles just released their second full length album titled "Gloss Drop"so I figured I'd throw up their full discography. New York math rock and experimental band that can only be understood by listening to it. Very unique sound, you know you're listening to battles when it plays because its so unique to this group. They are headlining a tour right now actually, October 2011. Your ears must hear this.

Nit Grit

Self-Titled
FileServe

Caught this guy live opening for Pretty Lights in Detroit and so I thought I'd help spread his music. One man project from San Jose, Danny Beall writes a mix of electronic/dub, influence by a lot of IDM, Breakcore, and Drum 'n' Bass. "Lupin" is one of my favorites check it out. ONe of his oldest projects was under the name Sloth Logic and its worth checking out as well.
