Jónsi

Go (2010)
Mediafire

Uplifting and artistic dream pop written solely by the lead singer and guitarist of Sigur Rós, Jón Þór Birgisson. This Icelandic native has a voice that has captivated such a wide variety of listeners that it has been used in many different commercials and soundtracks for years. Chances are, you've probably heard this man's voice somewhere but just didn't realize it at the time. A lot of the music is sung in his native tongue but there are some English songs. From my experience, the words don't even matter with this man, his voice alone tells a story.

Maps and Atlases

Beware and Be Grateful (2012)
Mediafire

I was curious to see if this has leaked and after my search I found links everywhere for it. This is the second full length album by Maps and Atlases and is one of my most anticipated albums of the year. I haven't given it a listen yet as I'm downloading it as I post this, but I have extremely high expectations for it!  Check out my older post to get the rest of the Maps discography here.

Telefon Tel Aviv

 Fahrenheit Fair Enough (2001)
Mediafire

I find it quite rare that I hear something I enjoy on the radio, and this band just so happens to be one of those rarities. I heard them on satellite radio so it might not count as much but either way this group really got me listening. Telefon Tel Aviv is a two person downtempo IDM group that has a soft side, which reminded me a lot The Mercury Program, with layers of electronic and IDM beats. Give them a listen!

The Safety Fire

Grind the Ocean (2012)
Mediafire

Heavy progressive metal from the UK. I saw this band live a couple months ago and they killed it, they really got the crowd moving and the lead singer was filled with energy and passion. I'd recommend checking this out if you are a fan of progressive metal or math metal.

Jeff Loomis

Zero Order Phase (2008)

This man can shred, just trust me.

...and Upstairs, Nurses

Dece Mustings (2012)

...and Upstairs, Nurses is a three piece experimental math rock band from the UK that incorporates a strong indie rock feel most notably within the vocals, which don't take up a large percentage of the album. Most of the music is instrumental which put me in a grooving dance mood. It kinda reminded me of Hella as soon as the first track started but, then it transformed into its own style with the first vocals. Free download man.

5/29 update
 - Just thought I'd come back here and express my love for this album. It's been over a month since I've posted it and it continues to grow on me. I wake up to this band nearly everyday, and the lyrics and melodies stay stuck within my head. Get it, seriously.
