Mansions

Dig Up The Dead (2011)
Mediafire

Took me awhile to find this so I decided to document it on the blog. I've been hearing some buzz about this band and have listened to a couple songs but need to give it a good run through before I form an opinion. But what I do know is that Mansions is the project of a Kentucky man named Christopher Browder. He writes all the music himself which is pretty cool. For fans of Weatherbox or Brand New.

Anthony Green - Beautiful Things

Beautiful Things (2012)
Mediafire
Bonus Tracks

A leak of the highly anticipated sophomore solo album by Anthony Green. After one listen through I can tell that this album is going to receive high reviews. Anthony brings in a lot more experimentation into this album, keeping it interesting the whole way through. He is as honest and real as he has ever been and it looks like Anthony's head has actually been set straight. I love the opening track, "If I Don't Sing."

If you are new to Anthony Green and this is the first you've heard of his material then I would highly recommend his first solo album Avalon as well.

The band that has inspired countless talented artists of the 21st century is now BACK after an 11 year hiatus. At the Drive-In has announced their return and have announced two shows that they will be playing in the Spring. Sounds highly likely that the band will also write some new material, but nothing is official yet. The band tweeted that, "This Station Is Now Operational", so keep up with the band's news if you're a fan of this band! In celebration, here are the band's albums and the Vaya EP.

Age of the Fifth Sun (2010)
Mediafire

God Is an Astronaut is a four piece band from Ireland. They play instrumental post rock with a very spacy and almost haunting feel to it. The band looked to join a record label, but decided to create their own label after being asked to add a vocalist by each major label they applied for. The band has a lot of music and is currently on tour in Europe.

Cursive

The Ugly Organ (2003)
Mediafire

This album takes me back to middle school, I just gave it a full listen and was reminded of just how awesome it is. Great indie rock post hardcore band from Nebraska. Beautifully heavy melodies, wildly unique vocals, and the additional use of instruments such as organs, violins, and cello.

Underwater Tell Each Other Secrets (2011)

This band is great and they need to get discovered and get the recognition they deserve. I would highly suggest checking out the Red and Blue Version's to start. Blue Version is my favorite, incredible mathy guitar work under the lead singers unique voice and singing style. Check them out!

The American Dollar

Winter 2010 Compilation (2010)
Bandcamp

Beautifully orchestrated New York band, The American Dollar will not let you down. The band plays an ambient post-rock style of music that sounds like a blend of Radiohead and Sigur Ros. The Winter 2010 Compilation is being given away for free on the bands Bandcamp page. It takes a select few of their songs off of each of their previous albums and puts them together on one cd. I'm really enjoying what I hear so far and may have to look into getting the rest of the albums in full.
