The first release by, in my opinion, one of the greatest math rock bands to come into the scene. Incredible music that will never let you down for even a moment's rest. You should definitely listen to their newest release, You Wanna Kiss About It? I thought I had posted about them a long time ago but looking back I see that I have not!

Ahhh my ears feel so good.  This band is based in Southern California and play twinkly math rock, which is I believe characterized by the positive uplifting high tempo music that is similar to Chon (and is typically based out of California/Sunshine States.) This band makes great use of subtleties and almost never repeats a riff in the same way. I'm about to explore this twinkly stuff, might find some treasure.

I love it when I find a new band that I enjoy but don't quite fall in love with, only to return it to it after months of not listening and be like, "Wow, this is really something special." I tuned into Stage Kid's most recent album, Killer Tofu, and was swept away. The link to their Bandcamp page will bring you to their debut self titled album, an album equally as impressive as Killer Tofu. Instrumental math rock for the win.

Caspian/Native 2013

And so the waiting begins, Caspian and Native will be in Lansing, MI March 19th, just a few minutes away from me. I saw Caspian open for Minus the Bear a few months ago and they put on a great show, the music really filled the room. I am sure the Native show will be epic as well, that band does it best live.
